Willcox & Gibbs Chain Stitch Sewing Machine

A nice example of the classic Willcox & Gibbs chain stitch sewing machine with automatic tension. These machines are as stylish today as when they were made and are amazingly quiet and smooth to use.

As with most antique W&G machines there is some wear to the original gold decals on the body. The bright nickel plated parts are mostly very good with just maybe the slightest tarnishing, except for just the automatic tensioner cap.

The hand wheel assembly of this machine is particularly outstanding and is about the best I have ever seen on a W&G. There are no marks at all and the decals are in perfect crisp condition.

The machine is complete and fitted with the correct needle so that it sews a perfect chain stitch.

The machine comes with an original W&G wooden storage case in very good condition with lock and key and a cast iron carrying handle.
